The EP is a six-track exploration of love and memory, with songs ranging from starry-eyed piano ballads to folk-influenced guitar songs. Featuring dreamy vocals from Emily Gray and Irene Zhong, piano-and-guitar backdrops, and lush string arrangements co-written and performed by the pair on many tracks, the EP begins from a place of heartbreak, winds through memories and dreams, and ends having found a place of hope and the possibility of moving forward.
‘All the songs seemed to be saturated with the colour blue – how it seems to pull you into it, how it can be beautiful and sad at the same time. Shades of memory and melancholy seemed to permeate everything the two of us wrote. By working together with Irene to create these sound worlds, we were able to find ways to pull ourselves out of these dark dreams, and find light, warmth, and connection on the other side.’

Vox, piano, and violin tracks on Boy in a Blue Dress and Go Down were recorded at Bakehouse Studios by engineer Errol Green. Piano tracks on Inside a Dream and Another Time were recorded in the Ian Potter Southbank Centre electronic studios of Melbourne Conservatorium. All other tracks were recorded in Irene Zhong's home studio.
This record was made on Wurundjeri and Bunurong land.
